So who ya got in the AFC Championship game?
Jaguars?
Or Patriots? (I may have very slightly telegraphed who I’m rooting for.)
To Pats fans: Congratulations. Your football team is very nice. For me, the Patriots don’t have to win another Super Bowl for them to be the best team that’s ever played. They already are. I don’t know if we’ll ever see a pairing of QB and coach like Tom Brady and Bill Belichick ever again. But I don’t care. I don’t want them to win this year. I have Pats fatigue. This year, three of the four teams in the championship games have never won a Super Bowl; Jacksonville has never even gotten to one. So I’m pulling hard for the Jags to upset them today. And if that doesn’t happen, then I want the NFC team to kill the Pats in the Super Bowl.
If the Jaguars are going to win this game, their defense needs to hit Tom Brady. Hit him hard, and hit him constantly. He is still capable of delivering the ball when he gets pounded but if you hit him he starts to slip up, and he’ll start to feel pressure even when it’s not there and that’s when he makes mistakes. On the other side, the Jags offense needs to run the ball and eat the clock. Also they need to remember that Blake Bortles is their QB. Act accordingly.
I really really REALLY want Jacksonville to win, but I know the Patriots probably will. Dammit.
Who ya got in the NFC Championship game?
Vikings?
Or Eagles?
After last week, is there anyone outside of Philly (or other NFC North cities) that isn’t rooting for the Vikings? I would love to see them go. But the Eagles getting to this point has been a pretty good story too. To lose your MVP-level QB and still make it to the conference championship game is no small feat. I know what it was like to have your team go oh-fer in the Super Bowl and then eventually win one, and I hope one of these teams gets to feel what that’s like.
What Super Bowl pairing are you hoping for most? For me, I think this is the order of want:
1. Jacksonville vs. Minnesota
2 (tie). New England vs. Minnesota
2 (tie). Jacksonville vs. Philadelphia
4. New England vs. Philadelphia
I got beer, I got snacks. My body is ready.

I want Jacksonville to win, but I think the Pats will blow them out. My uncle is a Vikings fan for some reason (has rooted for them since he was a kid despite growing up in New Jersey), so I’ll be rooting for them with him, assuming he’s still alive after last week.

I want to see Jags Vikings Super Bowl. I’ve had more than enough Patriots for the rest of time.

I’m going with the least likely scenario: Jags and Viks.
Also, the fuel economy of the AMC Eagle is impressive even today.

Vikings for the NFC. Although I won’t be to sad to see the Eagles get the win.
Torn on the AFC side, I want the Jags to win but I’m still a big Burkhead fan from when he played for the Huskers so still want to see him make it to the Super Bowl.

Son is a HUGE Pats fan (Donkey fan boi here, moved to Colorado in 1972 and got hooked on Orange Crush) so I guess I am pulling for them. Besides, seeing Bortles in a Super Bowl is probably going to break some cosmic universal law.
And I still think Philly is the team to beat. In our office pool I had an Oak/Phi Super bowl so Im still halfway there.

Same as everyone else apparently. I have extended family in Minnesota, so that’s my first choice. And Jacksonville because they’re not New England.
I’d be okay with Philly though.

I’ll be genuinely surprised if it’s a blowout. Jacksonville’s D is for real.

I’m basically rooting for anything new, any underdog. So, not the Pats.
